CARNARVON

Hokianga, tho residence of Mr R. B. McKenzie, was the scene of a very nice, though quiet, wedding on Saturday the 6th instant, when Miss Elsie Grace, second daughter of Mr and Mrs McKenzie, was united ip matrimony to Mr O. AV. Dnncum, son of Mr W. J. Duncum, of Surrey, England. The Rev. G. K. Aiken performed tho ceremony in the presence of a circle of near relatives of the bride. The bride was given away by her father; her sister, Miss Jessie, attended as bridesmaid ; and Mr N. D. McKenzie, brother.of the bride, acted as groomsman. The bride looked most charming in a plain delaine frock, trimmed, with old English lace and carried a beautiful bouquet of ferns and snowflakes. After the ceremony tho guests were hospitably entertained by their hosts, Mr and Mrs McKenzie. Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Duncum took thoirtleparture for their home amidst the inevitable showers of rice and the hearty good wishes of all prosent. The bride and bridegroom wore the recipients of a great many very handsome, as well as valuable and useful presents. Ainoug tho latter were a number of cheques of considerable amounts.
