SANDON SCHOOL COMMIT TEE.
After the deputation had withdrawn the Sandon Committee held their usual meeting. Correspondence was received from the Board confirming the appointment of Mfs| W. Bailey as bead mistress in place of Mies Lynch, resigned^ The chairman, Mr.' Perretfc, ex. plained to the meeting that he had suggested Miss Bailey’s appointment to the Board, and he asked the members to confirm his action. On tho motion of Mr A’Court the chairman’s action was confirmed, A circular was received and read from the Bible in Schools League asking for an 'expression of opinion on the questions submitted, -Mtey considerable discussion the meeting; decided with one dissentient, that it is not desirable to have tho Bible read in the schools as a classic and without comment.
It was decided to have tho shelter shed cleaned out, and a new clay floor laid down and protected from tho children’s horses that have beei\ in tho habit of gqing into the shed. The question of altering the opening and closing hours at school during the winter months was left with tho chairman and secretary to arrange with the head master.
