CONSPIRACY ALLEGED.

BY PUTARURU MAN. Adjudged Bankrupt. A petition to make Herbert McDonald, wheelwright, of Putaruru, bankrupt, was made in the Supreme Court at Hamilton by Mr. W. Gray, acting for the petitioning creditor, Charles McDonald, a step-son of the respondent. Mr. Gray said an action was pending between McDonald and his stepson for the recovery of certain tools of trade. McDonald had just been released from two months’ imprisonment for being in arrears with his wife’s maintenance, and it was rumoured that he intended to leave the country as soon as he could accumulate sufficient money by the realisation of his assets. Mr. J. H. Mullin, for respondent, in asking for an adjournment, alleged that there was a conspiracy between the step-son and Iris mother to encompass McDonald’s ruin. The son had stolen respondent’s tools. His Honor said the petitioning creditor had secured a judgment against the respondent for moneys lent, and he was entitled to the order to adjudicate respondent a bankrupt. The order was accordingly made.
