A SUDDEN ILLNESS.
AND FATAL ENDING. Late Arapuni Resident. Mrs. Morrison, recently resident at Arapuni with lier daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Davies, died last Thursday while on her way from Matamata to Paeroa races, where the party expected to meet Mrs. Morrison’s sons. When nearing Hinuera, Mrs. Morrison said she did not feel well. So she was taken into a house nearby and given attention. Mr. Davis rang Dr. Laurenson and Mrs. Cranswick (a very old friend of Mrs. Morrison’s), asking the Doctor to be at Cranswick’s, as they were bringing Mrs. Morrison straight in. She arrived, but died ten minutes later, owing to heart failure. The body was removed to Hikutaia. Six sons, all living at Hikutaia, and two daughters, Mrs. Davis, of Arapuni, and Mrs. McMahon, of Auckland, are left to mourn their loss. Deceased’s husband died fourteen years ago. They were very friends of Mesdames H. E. Mogford (late of Matamata, now of Papakura), J. W. Simpson and J. Cranswick (both of Burwood road, Matamata), daughters of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Browne, very old identities of Waharoa and Matamata.
