The Value of Lime.
If any of our farmers desire to learn something of the value of lime as a fertiliser (says the Clutlia Free Press) we should recommend them to pay a visit to any of the farms on the Toko Plain that have been limed, when they will see that the fertility of the soil has been greatly enhanced. Soirel, which used to take possession of the fields, has disappeared, luxuriant grass has taken its place, and tlie grain yield has been in many cases doubled. Profiting by the experience of their neighbours, the farmers are one after another taking • lime, and at the present time several plots of laud may be seen dotted over With heaps of lime ready for spreading. In good time, let us hope, like U grippe, the infection will spread till all the farmers use lime freely.
