Befobe John Allen, Esq., B. M. Wednesday, December 17. Wilson v. Cornwall—Claim £8 3s. Judgment summons. No order made. Mr Staite appeared for the plaintiff. W. Nesbitt v. J. Benge balance due on sale of dray. The matter in dispute was that the balance was to be worked out, but as the evidence as to how and when it was to be worked out was contradictory the plaintiff was non-suited. Mr Staite appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Haslett for the defendant. J. G. Calloway v. A. W. Dillon.— Claim £69 for weges, or giving credit for £SO, leaving a balance of £l9, which the plaintiff considered was still due to him. The defendant proved by his books that the contra account was nearer £BO, and as the plaintiff had kept no books his Worship dismissed the case without costs. Mr Staite for plaintiff, and Mr McNab for defendant.
Police v. Jacques.—For leaving a steam engine on the side of the road to the danger of the travelling public. His Worship pointed out that he had power to inflict a fine of £lO, but would take a lenient view of the case, and fined the defendant 10s, with 7s costs.
T. C Simpson Application for protection of terrace claim, Right-hand Branch Cullen's Creek. Protection granted for fourteen days. Mr C. H. Mills appeared in support of the application.
R. Nesbitt and W. George—Application for Mr Nesbitt's name to be inserted in the place of Mr Dawson. Granted.
Richard Mills.—Application for protection of water-race at Deep Creek. Granted.
C. Bristow and Peter McAlpine.— Application for registration of claim to be called the Day Dawn, creek claim, Wakamarina. Granted.
