(own correspodent.) Sydney, Oct. 30. A deputation from the Chamber of Commerce waited upon the PostmasterGeneral (Mr Lee) to-day in reference to the new San Francisco mail service. Mr Lee, in reply to the deputation, said that the Government were bound to carry on the new service until the question had been decided by Parliament, a contract having been signed conjointly with New Zealand subject to the approval of the New South Wales Parliament. A public meeting w„s afterwards held, at which resolutions were passed condemning the new mail contract, and pronouncing strongly in tavor of the continuance of a direct service.
