COMMON STAND
AIM IN EUROPE CHECK TO AGGRESSION INITIATIVE BY BRITAIN FRANCE, POLAND, RUSSIA DIPLOMATIC CONSULTATION (Elec. Tol. Copyright—United Tress Assn.) (Rccd. March 23, 9 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The Times .says that Britain has asked France, Poland and Russia to consider the desirability of issuing a joint statement declaring a common view against acts of aggression and expressing a desire, not only to continue consultations now, but to consult immediately in the interests of mutual defence if further aggression is believed to be imminent. The form of the consultations has not yet been decided Russia suggested an immediate sixPower conference in Bucharest, a proposal wnich the Tass News Agency at Moscow reports Britain has turned down as being premature, but it was indicated to Russia that Britain would consider the proposal carefully. Reuter’s Agency says that the Cabinet is actively preparing a declaration of British policy which will be the subject of diplomatic exchanges among the Governments of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.
