After. 27 years’ service with the Labour Department, Mr. W. Slaughter, officer in charge of the Labour Department in Auckland, is to retire from the end of April, as he will then have reached the age limit.. After having been hon. secretary of the Marist Old Boys' Football Club for (the past three years, Mr. Paul Sccats tendered his resignation at the annual meeting of the club last evening. Mr. Sceats held office at the time the Spillane Cup tournament was held in Gisborne, and his work on that occasion and in other directions has been of great benefit to the club.
