PRODUCTION PROSPEf -TVS When the Minister of Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb, was at Hikurarvgi recently he made inquiries as to the position at the Hikurangi coal mine that was flooded by an inrush of waterlast November.. The Minister was informed that within a few months the mine should again be producing to the output prior -to the flooding and the full number of men previously employed should be at work again. Prolonged efforts have been made to unwater the mine workings and now, with the use of further large pumps, the water is being controlled and a limited amount of coal is being hewn.
