ARGUMENT OVER ONIONS
WOMAN ASSAULTS WOMAN WARNING BY MAGISTRATE An argument over onions was given as the cause of a recent disturbance in a house in Tikitiki. As a result, Kuini Manuel, alias Queenie Koia, a widow, appeared recently before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Ruatoria Police Court and pleaded'guilty to a charge of assault, being convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within a year. r The woman was warned by Mr. Walton that if she offended again in the same manner she would be likely to be sent to gaol. It was said that the victim* of the assault, a slighter woman than the accused, was suffering from a swollen face and lacerations and bleeding inside the cheek. Constable -N. H. Tuck said that as the accused was about to leave the police office she was heard to say the complainant had better look out or she would get another thrashing, when :the would) have something to go to the police about.
