SPECIAL SHIP FOR JEWS
GERMAN PROPOSAL
AUSTRALIAN OPPOSITION
(Reed. Nov. 2, 2.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 2
The Jewish Welfare , Society is. strongly opposed to a proposal that a special steamer with only Jewish migrants should leave Germany for Australia in December. The society has cabled to its London office asking that steps should ■be taken to check the proposal. While desirous of helping as many distressed Jews as possible the society considers the migrants should be carefully selected and it would be very difficult to absorb a large shipload at once.
