Blue skies were reported this morning at Auckland aid East Cape, but overcast conditions prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light to fresh south-westerly breezes were general. The barometer had risen steadily since yesterday. Temperatures at !) o'clock were: Auckland 57 degrees, Tauranga 58, Opotiki and Napier 55, East Cape 54, and Gisborne and Wellington 52. Rdttgh seas were reported at Cape Palliser: elsewhere moderate or smooth. Midday Forecast General situation.-—An anticyclone of considerable intensity is moving on to the Dominion. Forecast. --Moderate but decreasing south-westerly to southerly winds. A lew isolated showers still possible, but weather mainly fair to fine. Temperatures cool, with some frosts to-night. Seas moderate, with a considerable southerly swell.
