HIKING TO THE GAMES

LONG WALK BY SWISS

NEED To RETRACE STEPS

(Reed. Aug. 2, 12 noon) CAIRO, Atfg. 1

The change in the location of the Olympic Games for 1940 has disappointed Fritz Steinghez, who set out in February of 1937 to walk to Japan from Switzerland to participate. He hiked through France and Italy and walked 12 miles daily. He boarded a ship for Egypt. Now he is walking back to Switzerland across Central Europe. He has not made up his mind whether he will walk to Helsingfors.
