SNUB BY HITLER

CZECH FLAG AT SPORTS

NAZIS ROAR APPLAUSE

\MAZINC BRESLAU SCENE

MARCHERS HUSH TO DAIS

(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.)

(Reed. Aug. 1, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 31

The Breslau correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that, seeing the approach of the Chechoslovakian flag borne by three Sudeten Germans during a procession of 200,000 athletes, Herr Hitler turned his back and talked with his entourage until the flag had passed.

The Czech Government granted special permission to a Sudeten German delegation of 40,000 to attend the sports fete. The procession ended in an amazing scene, the marchers breaking the ranks and surging round Herr Hitler's dais.

Herr Henlein, the leader of the Sudeten German Party in Czechoslovakia, looked on apparently uncertain whether to be annoyed at the delegation's lack of discipline or pleased over its enthusiasm. German delegations attended from all parts of the world, including the ex-German South-West Africa, the United States, Memel, Poland, Rumania, and South America. llerr Hitler shook hands with every South-West African and United States delegate.

Herr Hitler made his snub of the Czech flag most obvious. As the flag was almost opposite the dais, Herr Hitler completely turned. Immediately the flag passed he returned to the liung-oul-arin salute to the marchers. Scarcely anyone failed to notice the snub, which was greeted with roars of appreciation.
