WORRYING OF SHEEP
"One farmer in the Hukerenui district has lost 80 sheep through worrying by dogs," said Mr A. Wiblin, at a meeting of the Whangarei Farmers' Union. "Sporting dogs seem to be the ringleaders, but in the majority of cases even when the offending dogs are caught the owners cannot be traced, and sometimes the sheep owners cannot get compensation."
