The plight of the people isolated with their ears in the Wairoa district during the past week has been alleviated by the accommodation provided on the Coastal vessels working the port of Waikokopu, which is serving Wairoa now that the highway has been opened up. The Awahou and Pakura willbc calling at Waikokopu before the-end of the week, the Awahou being expected to arrive to-mor-row to take passengers and motor vehicfes to Napier, and the Pakura. will leave Napier at 7 a.m. on Friday with passengers for Waikokopu.
