Hinetapora
Mrs. R. Tuheke presided at the monthly meeting of the "Hinetapora Women's Institute, held in the Hinotapora meeting house on August 17. Two new members were enrolled, Mrs. R. Awatere and Miss A. McClutchie. The roll call was "Sick room hints."
There were good entries for the competitions, which resulted:—A section.—Sewin.g child's dress: Mrs. H. Tapiata, 1; Mrs. R. Terauna, 2; Mrs. M. Tuhou, 3. B section. —Any toy from old wool: Mrs. R. Terauna, 1; Mrs. M. Tuhou, 2. Maori artSeniors, round flax kit: Mrs. H. Tapiata, 1; Mrs. K. Milner, 2. Juniors, Honi hat: Mrs. M. Tuhau, 1. Cooking.—Scones: Mrs. R. Terauna, 1; Mrs. M. Tuhou, 2; Mrs. E. Awatere, 3.
Mrs. K. Hira and Mrs. A. Teweehi gave an interesting talk on medical attendance at a hospital and received a hearty vote of thanks. The hostesses were Mesdames R. Terauna, H. Paenga, M. Tuhou and K. Milner.
