MAN’S SKULL FRACTURED

STRUCK BY PALLING ROCK

ACCIDENT AT OTOKO

A fractured skull was sull'ered this morning by Air. Charles Evans, aged 62, a married man, of Otoko, while, working for the Public Works Department on the main highway road cutting at Anzac bridge, about 1£ miles from Rakauroa.

Air. Evans was struck by a falling stone. Constable AleClinohie, Alatawai, was immediately notified, and oil leaching the scene and finding the man in a dangerous condition, made arrangements for his removal to the Cook Hospital at once.

The injured man was placed on a lorry owned by Air. James Beattie, who conveyed him to Waikohu. The St. John Ambulance, which had been notified, met the lorry there, and the man was transferred to the ambulance and taken to the hospital. His condition this afternoon was reported to lie serious.
