DECISION NOT ALTERED
WINTER SHOW MEETING
NO FIXTURE THIS YEAR
The decision to abandon the 1937 Winter Show was not altered last evening, when the members of the executive of the Poverty Bay Winter Show Association met to consider tho position now that the infantile paralysis epidemic restrictions had been lifted. Those present were Mr. T. G. Johns, chairman, Ales dames A. Baillie, F. Redfcarri, and R. Cato, and Messrs. A. Baillie, P. Parry, J. A. Livers, J. AV. Blalhwayt, G. W. Armsi rung, P. C. Ellis, and the honorary secretary, Air. J. AL Kay.
Correspondence was received from Messrs. Common, Shelton, and Coin puny, Limited, advising that the wool store would not bo available until tho first week in August. In view of this, it was decided that the previous decision not to hold a show should bo adhered to and that the members of the association should be circularised notifying them of the position and explaining the reasons for not holding a fixture this year. Members of the executive were of the opinion that August dates would not be suitable for the holding of a successful show as it would be too late in the season for the exhibitors of produce.
The chairman said that the committee and members regretted the abandoning of the show for .1937, but he was sure that the public would realise that under the circumstances it would not lie advisable to carry on.
Accounts amounting to £32 His lOd were passed for payment.
