LLEWELLYN DOWN AGAIN DAMAGE TO PLANE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) BULAWAYO, May .11. Flight-Lieutenant D. Llewellyn, who left Capetown yesterday morning on an attempt to set a new record for the flight to London, made a forced landing at Serowe. His machine struck an ant-heap and was badly damaged. Flight-Lieutenant Llewellyn was .jammed in his seat, but was extricated bv natives.
ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED MRS. PUTNAM’S PLANE MIAMI, May -Tl. The American aviatrix, Mrs. Amelia l.arhart I’ntaam, to-day carried out a test flight, which revealed the necessity of adjustments to the radio and gyro pilot of her plane. She announced that’ she would" take- off oil Tuesday at the earliest on her round-the-world flight, following the line of the Equator. Mrs. Putnam’s previous attempt to make a round-the-world flight came to an end on March 20 11-11011 her aeroplane crashed at Honolulu as she was attempting to take olf for Howland Island.
