CLUB CRICKETERS COSMOPOLITAN MEETING The annual mceling of the Cosmopolitan (.Ticket Club was held in the Cosmopolitan Club rooms .lasi- evening, Air. .). Macdonald presiding over a fair attendance of enthusiasts. Tiie results last season were stated to have been extremely gratifying, the club leant proving victorious against Betty’ Bridge. Maiiutuke. Tolaga Bay. lI.AI.SJ. Leith. Waiitgake, I’uatoi in United, Aluriw;ti. AVaikarcinonna. Napier Cosmopolitan Club, and the Gisborne Club, and suffering defeat by the Gisgaseo, The election of officers resulted: — President. Air. .1. -J. Macdonald; vicepresidents. A losses. I. Ellis, T. Hogan, T Cornish, C. Bowden, T. llaisman, and .1. G. Dow: lion, secretary. Air. PBailey: lion, treasurer, Air. E. A. Beer; captain. Mr. F. Beer : committee, Messrs. J. ,T. Macdonald. I’. Bailey. E. A. Beer, E. Beer. C. McCoy, and P. Fulton. It was decided to open the season with the usual opening game, president s team v. vice-president s team, to be played at Kaitaratab.i on October 11.
The committee was instructed to purchase additional gear, and Lite balance of the fund raised for that purpose would he used to lessen the travelling expenses during the coming season.
A. motion that the teams colours be royal blue blazers and caps, was carried. and the committee instructed to obtain prices.
The secretary was instructed to ask all teams wishing to challenge the club during the coming season to state-, approximate dates for the matches as it- seemed probable that the forthcoming, season would lie a heavy one and the information would be of great assistance in the drawing up of a fixture list. , The subscription fee for members of Ihe club wishing to join the cricket dub was fixed at 2s 6d.
Votes of thanks were accorded .Messrs. P. Bailey’ and .1, 'Harvey lor their greatassistance at all outings last season, to Air. T. llaisman, scorer, and all. members lending ears for transport. The meeting closed with a vote oi thanks to the chair.
