REVIEW OF THE YEAR BURSARTEK AWARDED _ (I>cr Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. It. was announced at the annual meeting of the Trent ham scholarship iu" < * executive to-night that.- the assets ol the. fmicl \yon* now only sullicicnl; in nice t liabilities already incurred under bursaries and, therefore, no further applications would be invited. Tim report for the year stated that applications for 351 bursaries had hern received, as compared with <156 the previous year. Forty-one bad been declined. ' The sum represented by the awards was £3453 10s. and the average award had been £l4 8s lOd. Since these awards had been made. 34 had been cancelled, representing £312. Since the inception of Hie I unit. £64.021 17s had been paid to bursaries. 3564 bursaries had been awarded affect ino-1 1331 children; and on the average each child bad benefited to the extent oi £46 7s 2d. The retiring members of 1 ho executive. Dr. E. Alarsden, Major L. G. Forgie, and Messrs. \V. Appleton and G. A. Troup woro ro-elociotl.
