RAILWAY APPOINTMENT
A SSI ST AN T ENG INEEE (IVr Prusb Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. it. C. Lusty, A.M.1.C.E., lias been appointed as assistant chief engineer of the New Zealand railways. He is at present inspecting engineer and is sta tinned at the head ollice of the depart, inci l l,. Mr. A. 11. ,\1 tirisoii, A.M.I.C-.h. of the chief engineer’s office, becomes the inspecting engineer. The Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, states that prior to 1931 there was an assistant chief engineer and an inspecting engineer attached t.o the chief engineer’s staff, but that year, as an economy measure, the position of assistant, chief engineer was not filled. Now, however, owing to tho increase in work in the chief engineer’s blanch, the appointment was, necessary.
