The Minister of Transport, the Hon. B. Semple, states that the four newliccnsing authorities under the Transport Act who recently met in Wellington have drawn his attention to the serious effects on the licensing of goods services of carriers wlio become the owners of tho goods they carried in order to circumvent the legislation. “I have asked the licensing authorities to make inquiries regarding all such cases, and to make reports to the department,” said Mr. Semple. “Consideration will then be given to the question of bringing theso services under the licensing system as provided in clause 21 of tho Transport (Goods) Order, 1936,”
