DAIRY COMPANY TRADING BOROUGH COUNCIL VIEW RATES IN JEOPARDY (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An appeal to the Government to pioteot private traders in Te Puke against competition by a co-operative dairy company is contained in a signed statement to the Industries and Commerce Committee of the House of ■Representatives. It is supported by Mr. Jamieson, a member of the Borough Council, who said the council was seriously alarmed about the possibility of such trading reducing the rateable value of land in the borough. _ Mr. Jamieson expressed the view that dairy factory trading should be restricted to manures, farm implements, and seeds.
