STALIN SOUNDS WARNING EVE OP BIG EVENTS ENEMIES GETTING READY WATCH ON THE FRONTIERS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 27, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 20. According to the Evening News, M. Josef Stalin broadcast a message to the End Army throughout Russia at dawn to-day. "We are on the very eve of momentous events," he declared. "At any moment now you may be called on to lay down your lives in defence of the proletarian land of your birth. It is a moment you have been expecting. "Now the land of your birth is expecting you to do the duty you have so eagerly awaited. .1 have no doubts about you, and am convinced that you have no doubts about your leaders. "Our enemies are getting into position, so be ready. Those on the frontiers keep watch." M. Voroshilov, the Soviet Commissar for War, Marshal Tuchachvsky, the chief of the General Staff, and M. Alksnis, the chief of the air force, also addressed the troops.
