MAN'S DEATH IN CAR
MONOXIDE CAS DANGER

WELLINGTON, this day. Emphasis on the danger of allowing the engine of a motor car to remain running in a closed garage was laid by the coroner, Mr. E. Gilbertson, at the inquest into the death of Lionel Bruce Johnston, aged 28, a single man, who was found dead in a motor garage in Oriental Bay on July 26 with the engine of the car running.
The coroner returned a finding that death was accidentally caused by Johnson inhaling carbon monoxide gas. "I canYiot stress the danger too much," said the coroner. "This is the fourth case of this type that I have had within the last 12' months. The fact that the fas-is imperceptible adds to the danger.'
