WAIKOKOPU HARBOUR

DEEP WATER PROPOSAL

( Herald Correspondent.) The matter of the amalgamation of the Wairoa and Poverty Bay harbour areas for the purpose- of constructing a deep water harbour at Waikolcopu on the plans of Mr. D. Holdcrness, Auckland, came up for discussion at the Wairoa Harbour,Board's meeting yesterday. It was decided that if it meets with the approval of the Gisborne people the combined boards should meet at Waikokopu at 10 a.m. on March 27 or 28, when the liner Hororata will be loading meat in the bay. The date of March 28 is given preference as visitors may desire to spend part of the time at the hot springs. Steps are being taken to fittingly entertain the visitors.
