CRUISER DIOMEDE

ON'WAY TO ENGLAND ACHILLES MAY LEAVE SOON (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Tho cruiser Diomede, which left Auckland in October last under sealed orders and subsequently Was stationed at Aden, is now on her way to England, where she arrives oil March 12, according to information received in Auckland. The cruiser passed through the Suez Canal on Friday last, and, proceeding through the Mediterranean, calls at Gibraltar.

It is likely that the new cruiser Achilles will commission in England following the Diomede's arrival, and that New Zealand ratings will transfer to her for their return to New Zealand. This is dependent on the international situation. The fact that the Diomede is returning to England early suggests that 11.M.5. Achilles soon will be coming to Auckland.
