ENGINEERING TRADES
(Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. An application was made to the Conciliation Council to-day by the representatives of I In- Wellington Amalgamated Engineering and Allied Trades for a new award. The workers' main claims arc for a 40hour week, and a minimum wage of £5. The employers' offers of wages ranged from 2s 2d liourly for pattern makers to Is ad for furnacemen, and a 44-hour veek. The hearing is proceeding.
