BOGUS DOCTOR

Ernest Peace Freeman, who was alleged to have posed as Dr. bonis Baliinov, of .Melbourne, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for false pretences at 'Birmingham. Superintendent l’agulcv staled that Freeman got m touch with 1 b*. ltabiuo\ ill Melbourne in 1934, and, it is believed, took it copy of bis diploma. Freeman in 19CS studied medicine in Oliieago while employed as a clerk, but there was no record of Dim in the American Medical Register. The defence pointed out that since Ills arrest. Freeman' had paid £4OO. to his Birmingham creditors. R was alleged that Freeman bought a practice for £2O, joined the local panel, and attended to’ insured people, and. though he was not a doctor, built up the practice, which lie sold for £7OO.
