SIR A. CHAMBERLAIN’S .SON RELEASE ARRANGED (Received July 22, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 21. Lieut. Joseph Chamberlain, son of Sir Austen Chamberlain, serving with tho Transjordan frontier force, is reported to have been captured by Wahabis while oa a pleasure excursion with a patrol in the Hedjaz territory Lieutenant Chamberlain was in charge of two Army transport cars on July 14 when they inadvertently crossed the frontier and were detained. A Foreign Office official told the Sunday Times that the land was all desert and there was nothing to mark the border. It was really a comedy of errors and there was no ill-feeling. An Amman message says that Lieut. Chamberlain's release has been arranged through diplomatic channels.
