INCREASE IN SYDNEY SYDNEY, Jan. G. Defying the State Government, the • master bakers have decided to increase the price of bread over the counter from 4Sd per loaf to 4jd from to-morrow, which means that most people will pay sd. The increase is alleged to he due to the flour tax, which operates from to-morrow. RISE IN MELBOURNE . (Received Jan. 7, 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Jan. 7. Following the enforcement of the flour tax, the price of bread was increased by one halfpenny to a 21b. loaf. .
