EVENTS AT PICTON
ROWING RESULTS
The Marlborough regatta was hold at Picton on New Year’s Day, all ttie Wellington clubs and Marlborough clubs being represented. The water conditions were excellent for rowing, hut, almost continuous rain fell throughout the afternoon. Following are the results of the principal evens : Single Sculls.—P. A. Abbott- (Petone), ] ; G. Tarrant, (Piet,on), 2. Tim only starters. Won by a length. Time, lOmin. 50sec.
Senior Fours.—Petone, 1 ; Star (Wellington), 2; W’airuu No. 2, 3. Also started : Wuhan No. 1 and Wellington. Won by hulf-a-rnnvas. Time, llinm. 56 l-6see.
Senior Pairs.—Star (Wellington). .1 ; Wairau, 2. The only starters. Won easily. Time, 9min. 43 4-ssec. ■ Junior Fours, Horgan Memorial Cup. —Picton No. 2,1; Star (Wellington), 2; Petone, 3. Also started: Blenheim and Picton No. 1. Won by four lengths. Time, 9mm. 5 4-ssec.
