The Waiinea leaves Auckland to-mor-row evening for Gisborne and Napier. She is due Iter on Thursday morning. The Wniriui (Captain A. !(.. Howie) left Wellington on Saturday for Napier and is due here to-morrow or Wednesday, Oil completion of discharge here she sails for Wellington, thence Dunedin, to load again via the usual ports. The Kartigi. with coal from the West Coast, arrived this morning. She is expected to complete discharge to-morrow and sail for Auckland. The Kalingo, with coal from Newcastle and general cargo from Sydney, is expected to leave Auckland to-morrow evening and is due here on Thursday. On completion of discharge she sails tor Grafton.

The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hertford, now loading frozen meat, general cargo and butter at Gisborne for London, is expected to complete this evening, sailing later for Wellington.

I lie Pukeko' is loading at Portland today and will complete at Auckland tomorrow for the Coast, Gisborne and Napier. She is due here on Thursday. The Awahott loads at Wellington today and to-morrow for Napier and Gisborne. The vessel is expected to work Napier on Thursday and to arrive here the following morning. The Margaret 'W., which commences loading at Auckland to-day, should he dispatched to-morrow night for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne. The vessel is due here on Thursday morning, and after discharge and loading will return to Auckland.

The motor ship King William arrived at, 6 a.m. yesterday to continue the discharge of her shipment of bitumen from Mexico. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel to-night for Napier, Wellington, New Plymouth, Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. The Union Company’s cargo steamer Waihemo has been sold to Greek buyers and will be renamed F.vinos. She lias been chartered to load a cargo of sugar at Queensland for Great Britain. The Waibemo is a vessel of 5627 tons gross, and she was built at Newcastle, England, in 1919. For a number of years slip has been engaged in the trans-Pacific cargo service. She completed her Inst voyage in tho service at Sydney early in August, and then loaded at Newcastle for Auckland and Wellington. On arrival at Wellington on August 24 she was withdrawn from commission to undergo overhaul. On April 1 last the vessel ran ashore on a reef at Navula Passage, Fiji, and she was floated off a few days later, having suffered only slight damage. In June, 1924, she ran ashore at Newcastle, New South Wales, and little damage was done on that occasion also. TAMAROA’S REFIT MORE CABIN SPACE Since her last visit to New Zealand, th<‘ Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tainaroa. which arrived at Auckland on Thursday from London and Southampton, has undergone an extensive refit. The work, which was carried out at Glasgow, includes general painting and redecorating and the provision of new state-rooms and public rooms, a gymnasium and space for the storage of chilled beef. New quarters' have been provided for the engineers, and the accommodation on tbp boat deck previously occupied by them, has been converted into 22 new single-berth cabins, Well equipped and furnished in modern style. The former verandah cafe has been closed and further cabin accommodation provided there, while a new verandah cafe has been provided on the boat deck. The space above this lias been extended and now forms a convenient sun dork. The gymnasium is fitted out with a rowing machine, mechanical horse and oilier modern equipment, while forward a new sitting room lias been nrovided. Two compartments in one of the holds have been altered so as to allow the carriage of chilled beef. The Mataroa, which is scheduled to leave Southampton on November 2 for Auckland, is undergoing a similar refit while she is in England. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS Wellington. —Oct. 15: Arrived, 12.40 а.
