ANOTHER LONG CRUISE
FLYING BOAT SQUADRON • VISIT TO HONGKONGCALL AT PHILIPPINES (British Official Wireless.) Rec.’ 10 aim. RUGBY, April 8. The flying boat squadron which left Singapore early this week, is engaged on a cruise which, will last for about five weeks, and will include, halts of a week in Manila, Philippines, and 10 days at Hongkong. This will be the first time a Royal Air Force squadron - has .visited United States territory. . The flight is being, made by members of squadron 205,"which lias made many long-distance formation flights. In 1927-28) itfiiiade a cruise of 28jG00 '.miles, and lh'Hls»2 made another * cruise of 20.0C0 miles' to its credit. It is equipped with Southampton twinengined flying I>onts, which have proved of great value in flights where there are no natural landing grounds and the preparation of aerodromes is costly and difficult. On the way lo the Philippines, where three calls will be made, the flying boats will alight at Si.bu, in Borneo, and after the visit to .
