CAR OVERTURNS
WOMAN INJURED ’PHONE LINE “TAPPED” Mr. Ronald Bloxam, Majoribankr street, Wellington, is a fortunate motor ist. His sedan ear left the road and overturned on the main road 16 miles north of Waitarn, near the Mimi Gorge, last Saturday. His mother, Mrs; Bloxam, was imprisoned in the car. A Post and Telegraph Department repair van arrived on the scene almost immediately, “tapped” the telephone wires and summoned a doctor and constable iron) Waitara, With the ambulance from New Plymouth they were on the spot very quickly. By 4 p.m. Mrs. Bloxam, who was found on extrication from the car to be suffering from a severe gash above the right knee caused by broken windscreen glass, was in the ambulance and on her way to the New Plymouth Public Hospital. She was reported to be doing as well as could be expected. Her condition is not serious. Mrs. Bloxam is middle aged. Her son was not injured. The accident, according to Mr. Bloxam, was caused through faulty steering gear. The car zig-zagiged across the road several times before overturning on a slight incline.
