EFFECT OF WOOL SALES Considerable benefit to the progress of transactions in farm properties is expected in Auckland, following the mbch higher prices for wool obtained at the recent Auckland and Hawke’s Bay sales. While there has been no immediate effect, it is anticipated that the inquiry for sheep-farming properties is bound to increase. At the moment, intending buyers are maintaining their attitude of recent' months, in that they arc guarded in their estimates of the productive value of properties. As a consequence of the improvement in the wool market, apart from the sound demand for lambs and ewes, they are definitely more hopeful of success in any farming venture. As one leading dealer said, the tendency now was to be confident of the profitable ’prices being maintained in 'future sales, but at the game time to wait for results before entering into transactions. .Should the wool returns in New Zealand be consistently satisfactory, and the tone of the market indicates no adverse development at present, it is thought that there will be a substantial uplift in the market early in the new year.
