ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
APPROVAL BEFORE SALE Recommendations were maclo to the Power Boards conference at Wellington by the Engineers’ Association that suitable means be provided for the approval of electrical appliances before being offered for sale. Approval was given to the proposal. Mr. N. A. McLeod, president of the Engineers’ Association, said any person could go into a- shop and buy electrical apparatus which might or might not be suitable for the purpose required. A grave danger was thus created, and the engineers were anxious that provision should be made for apparatus to be approved before it was sold. Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., replied that n bill was being prepared to deal with the position, and it was hoped that legislation would be passed in the present session of Parliament.
