ADVANCE ON PEKIN
CHINESE REBEL BAND ONE TOWN OCCUPIED (Received September 26, II a.m.) SHANGHAI, Sept. 25. The latest Pekin message indicates that according to Chinese sources, approximately 35,000 Chinese troops are advancing t.owarls Pekin. Fang Chen-Wu’s rabble, augmented by roving bands of bandits, occupied the town of Niulanshan, 35 miles from the city. The Japanese are preparing to advance when the ultimatum expires. Fang Chon-Wu plans to attack Pekin while the bandits devote their attention to Tientsin.
