‘ ‘ OPEN ’ ’ INSTITUTION (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. A long debated question, that of making the Wairoa Hospital an “open” institution, as advised hv the Wellington authorities, has been at. last decided. A special meeting of the Wairoa Hospital Board on Wednesday last discussed the matter tentatively, hut owing to the paucity of attendance the meeting was adjourned until yesterday, when it was decided that the Wairoa Hospital he made an “'open'' institution, namely, that any medical praciiiinner in good standing secures (lie right to treat his patients at the hospital. There are certain conditions attaching to this concession, and the, whole question is to lie submitted to l)r. Watt, Director-General of Health, for ratification.
