A petition asking for an investigation of Napier Harbor Board leases lias been presented to Parliament by Air. W. E Barnard (Labor. Napier). The poti tinners (lessees of tlie board) stated that ■when tlie leases were renewed between 1928 and 1931 tlie unimproved value ol the land arrived at by arbitration was excessive, and in consequence the rents payable for the renewed terms were tooj high. On account of the depression thei petitioners were finding it increasingly ' difficult to pay rent, and thev asked tlmt an inquiry be held into the circumstances of the leases. Visitors to Napier.—Please remember the “Trocodero” is in its new quarters—Hastings Street. Open daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (including Sundays).*
