A report presented to the Government recommends the tightening up of betting laws, the licensing of bookmakers, and the creation of a board of five members to control the totalisator pool throughout the State. Landlords are to be held responsible for illegal betting, and gaming-house keepers will be placed under the rogue and vagabond clause of the Police Act.
