CARTERTON WEDDING
FENWICK —VINCENT A wedding of considerable interest throughout tho Wairarapa, in. Carterton and Featherstou in particular, was solemnised at St. Mark’s Church, Carterton, last Wednesday afternoon, when Blanche Edith, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Vincent, of Carterton, and formerly of Featherstou ancl Pahiatuu, was married to Fairfax, second sou of Mr. and the late Mrs. G. Fenwick, formerly of Featherstou. Both families are well known in the Wairarapa. Mr. G. Fenwick being a former manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Featherstou, and his son being well known in golfing circles both in tho Wairarapa and at Gisborne. Mr. and Mrs. G, A. Vincent and their family have resided in the Wairarapa for a number of years, and have become popular with all. Miss B. Vincent making many friends in her fields of sport, golf and tennis. The Rev. W. F. Stent, vicar of SiMark’s, officiated at the wedding ceremony. Mr. R. Carlton, of Wellington, was best, man, and Mr. J. Samuels, of Wellington, and Mr. H. Le Grove, Feat herston, groomsmen. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore, a white Mongolian satin gown, cut on long classical lines, with a veil of old point lace clasped with small sprays of orange, blossom. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies and was attended by two bridesmaids, hei sister, Miss Lily Vincent, ot Carterton, and Miss Joan Samuels, a cousin, of Christchurch. Mrs. W. Moroney. sisier of the bride, of Carterton, was matron of honor. Miss Vincent, chief bridesmaid, wore a gown ol hand-embroidered parchment niariette. relieved with a sash of crushed gold velvet, and picture fiat of baku straw. Miss ,Samuels wore a gown of cream mariette with a sash of gold and a picture hat of the same material. Both carried trailing bouquets of spring flowers. Mrs. Moroney wore a gown of crinkle crepe of Chinese gold with hat to tone. After the ceremony a reception was held ot the Marquis Hotel, where tiie bride’s mother received about 150 guests. She was assisted by Mrs. Moroney-. The usual toasts were proposed and honored, and later m the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. F. Fenwick left- by motor car for Auckland. thence returning to Gisborne, where they will reside. The bride’s travelling dress was a bottle green tailored ensemble, with squirrel fur trimmings, lint, shoes and bag to match.
