HOPE AND CONFIDENCE BRITISH INDUSTRIALISTS (Received Jan. 3,2 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 2. The president of the Federation of British Industries, Sir George Beharrel, issued a message stating that British manufacturers are looking forward to the new year with hope and confidence based ou the success with which they, compared with others, have so far weathered the economic storm, lie adds:— “Complete recovery, however, must d<‘ pend upon international action taken to remove artificial restrictions, which strangle the trade of the world. Great Britain, and the Dominions have made a start in this direction within the area of the British Commonwealth and in so doing have given a lead to the rest of the world.
