AUSTRALIAN FILM DISPUTE
SYDNEY. Jan. 2. In connection with the dispute between the Hollywood film exchanges and the Australian theatre owners, the latter are determined to close all theatres in the Australian capital cities rather than Continue to make contracts under the “block” system, which gives them no right of first seeing productions. One of Sydney’s largest theatres was closed throughout the holidays owing to lack of pictures.
