INDIAN RULER’S BOMB

FEDERAL SCHEME OPPOSED CALCUTTA, Juno 9. There have been minors in Simla for some time that a number of Indian States, under the influence of the Maharajah of Patiala, were organising a revolt against the Federal scheme for India, proposed by the Round-Table Conference, whicli reported in favor of it in January.

According to a message, to-day, it is even suggested that there is a reversal of the attitude taken up by the ruler of Patiala when lie was in London last winter, the Maharajah and his colleagues holding quite definitely that federation would conflict with the interests of tho States, and that, in whatever form the schemo proposed bo worked, there is sure to be an infringement of the independence of the States.
