The medical officers found no indication of a foul having occurred, and Trowern was ordered hack into the ring, complying with this order after an interval of several minutes. During this interval. Morgan had held earnest converse with his chief second, and when called on to resume the light be refused on the ground that Trowern bad hern unduly loin: absent from the ring. The referee forthwith disqualified him for refusing lo continue, and the light ended most unsatisfactorily.

Morgan protested' to the Gisborne Boxing Association against his disqualification, and (he executive decider 1 thai the referee had acted in accordance with Ihe rules in giving the fight to Trowern. Morgan carried his cas.> (c ||,n New Zealand Roxing Council, by means of an appeal against the Gisborne ■i.ssocintion's decision, and has again lost. Trowern will he paid the balance of the nurse whieh was held by the G.B.A. pending the settlement of the appeal.
