WOMAN’S TRAGIC LEAP STATEMENT BY PILOT i NEW YORK, Nov. 12. “She came into our office appearing quite normal, and said she wished to fly high,” said Ward Booth, the pilot from whose ’plane Ruth Rockwell commit led suicide by leaping. “We went aloft, and when about 1500 ft. I looked round and saw that her eyes were tightly closed. Thinking that she was frightened by her first flight, I tried to reassure her that everything was all right. She pointed higher. I ran up to 2000 ft., and suddenly felt a bump, which surprised me, as the air was smooth. 1 looked round and saw her falling through space 100 ft. away.
